General Objectives
In line with the AOGIN`s Vision Mission to promote training and education on Genital Infection and Neoplasia, gynecologist, general family medicine practioners, nurses midwives from all countries in Asia will be trained and updated with the basic skills on the different cervical cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment and preventive methods with emphasis on basic and advanced colposcopy. The single visit approach pioneered in Asia will be included. Its aim is to improve the delivery of health care to women and to reduce the incidence of cervical cancer in Asia.
Specific Objectives
At the end of the training on basic cervical cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment, ensuring the high quality of medical care, the trainee should be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of screening for cervical cancer diagnosis, treatment of pre-invasive lesions and need for referral;
- Review skill on Acetic Acid Wash, Colposcopy Cryotherapy and LEEP;
- Be updated on HPV vaccination;
- Develop strategies to counseling patients with regards to the emotional aspects involved in the diagnosis and treatment of cervical neoplasia Improve knowledge on quality health service and care in his practice.
